Difficulty: Easy

Time needed: ~45 minutes

Materials:

  • acrylic paint in the lead color
  • paintbrush
  • black marker such as a Sharpie (optional)
  • glue (I use and recommend hot glue, at least for the base of the box)

Paper Birthday Cake Slice Gift Box

In this week’s video tutorial, we’re creating this birthday cake slice box out of paper!

This box is so cute and is the perfect size to fill with treats, such as candy, or other small gifts.

Difficulty: Easy

Time needed: ~30 minutes

Materials:

  • Card stock paper (this project works best with paper that has a little thickness) in multiple colors (I used cream colored paper for the cake part of the box, pink for the frosting, and pink sprinkle paper for the top and back)
  • crepe paper for the frosting on the edge, I use this kind in white
  • paper straws (for the candles)
  • glue (I prefer hot glue for this because it holds fast and strong)
  • pencil
  • scissors
  • a tool to score with, I use this one

Crepe Paper Flower Bouquet Tutorial

This is a video tutorial to create this bouquet of flowers out of crepe paper!

This video was made with Mother’s Day in mind, but they would of course work for other occasions! In this tutorial, we’ll make roses, blue bell flowers, and branches of leaves.

Time needed: ~3 hours

Difficulty: Intermediate

Materials:

  • Crepe paper
  • floral tape
  • wire (I used 24 gauge in this video, but I strongly recommend 18 gauge or larger – this way you won’t have to wrap 3 together to make the stems)
  • glue gun
  • scissors

If you have questions or if you make this, I’d love to hear from you!
