DIY Paper Shadowbox Nativity Scene + Free SVG Cut File!

Hi everyone! In this week’s tutorial, we are creating a paper nativity shadowbox scene! The results of this project are beautiful!

Materials needed (for the hand-cut method):

  • Card stock – the paper you use needs to have some thickness to it. I suggest white card stock for the inside and glitter or colored card stock for the stable.
  • X-acto knife
  • Fairy lights or other small lights
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • 1/4 inch thick foam core board or similar to put between layers

Paper Honeycomb Christmas Ornament Tutorial

Paper Ornament

Paper Ornament

Hi everyone! In this week’s video tutorial, we’re creating a honeycomb Christmas ornament out of paper!

It looks quite complex, but is actually very easy! The most time consuming part is just cutting the pieces, and if you have a cutting machine such as a Cricut, you’ll have it made in no time at all!

Difficulty: Easy

Materials:

  • Paper – try to get the thinnest paper you can. This works great with doubled sided paper, as both sides will show – but unfortunately it is hard to find thin paper of this kind. I just used single sided thin scrapbook paper, which works just fine!
  • Glue – I used my go-to hot glue, and it worked great. Feel free to try other adhesives, but it needs hold strong.
  • Scissors
  • String or ribbon for the hanger
  • Pencil

Honeycomb Ornament Patternย (For cutting by hand) You’ll need to cut 18 of these, which took about 3 sheets of 12×12 paper for me.

Here is the .PNG for use with cutting machines:

Simple Paper Gingerbread House Tutorial

New video! Shows how to create a gingerbread house out of paper!

Real gingerbread houses can be a bit messy and hard to make. Paper greatly simplifies the process – and if safely stored, you can use the house year after year!

After the video was uploaded, I realized the clip showing how to put the house together accidentally got deleted. To put together the house, fold back all the tabs, put glue on them, and glue the pieces together. If you have any questions, please comment below ๐Ÿ™‚

Difficulty: Intermediate

On pattern 2, don’t cut out the whole window, leave some space around those inner lines ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a cutting machine? There is an SVG file of a house now available for purchase here!ย It isn’t the same style of house shown in this tutorial, but it will still work for this project.
