Paper
Solid Color Card Stock
This affordable, smooth 176 gsm paper is easy to cut and comes in many color packs of coordinating colors. This is the minimum weight paper I recommend using for 3D projects and especially good for projects that call for a lighter weight card stock, such as paper flowers. Comes in many colors.
This high quality 80lb card stock has a canvas texture on one side and a smooth texture on the other, cuts well with a machine, and is an excellent weight for most 3D projects. One of my most recommended papers.
Metallic & Foil Card Stock
This is a beautiful, shiny and reflective foil card stock that really looks like metal and adds so much to a project! My go to for anything meant to look like metal. Foil on front side, and kraft texture on the back. Cuts well by machine and easy to fold. It cuts best by machine with the foil side up, kraft side down.
Shimmer Card Stock
This paper has a beautiful, classy, subtle mica-type shimmer and isn’t shiny. Most colors have the shimmer on both sides, but the white shade has shimmer only on the front. Cuts well by machine and folds easily. Great for wedding projects or anything you want to dress up a bit. Accepts printing with a laser printer – inkjet printing will smear due to smooth texture.
Adhesives & Glues
Hot Glue
This is my absolute favorite glue gun! I was a bit skeptical about how fine the tip would actually be, but once I used this, I didn’t want to go back to a regular glue gun. This gives so much more control over how much glue comes out and where it goes. Great for paper crafting, or any other type of crafting. Also has an on/off switch which is a nice feature missing on most glue guns. Takes mini size, high temp glue sticks.
Liquid Glue
Finding a good liquid glue for paper crafting can be very difficult. Most liquid glues are water based, which causes them to warp the paper, which can really ruin the look of a project. This is one glue you can trust to never do that! Rather than water based, this is latex based. The downside of this is that it can leave a sticky residue on your fingers and is a little tricky to get off. I’ve been told an eraser will remove it’s residue from paper, if you happen to get it somewhere you don’t want it. This a fantastic glue otherwise for paper crafting. Has two different ends for dispensing, one with a very fine tip, wonderful for any detail work. Very strong hold when adhered while wet. Be sure to get the white and green bottle – the blue and clear bottle version is water based and completely different!
Many people swear by this glue for paper crafting and it really does work great. It is water based, but I’ve found it to be unlikely to warp paper, unless an excessive amount is used. Does not leave a sticky residue on fingers. Strong hold once adhered. Tip can get clogged fairly easily, keep a pin in it at all times when not in use.
Adhesive Foam Tape & Squares To Add Dimension
This stuff is fantastic. Super affordable (comes with 2 big rolls – I purchased this several years ago and have yet to use it all!), great adhesive with strong hold, easy to cut with scissors to any size you need. Gives slightly less dimension than foam squares typically do, which is good for projects that have many levels of dimension. I prefer using this over foam squares; this is my go-to choice for adding dimension.
