Kumihimo Flower Bracelet Tutorial

In this video tutorial, create a kumihimo bracelet with a flower pattern, using a DIY kumihimo disk!

This takes a little time to make, but once you’ve got the steps down, you’ll become much faster at it!

Materials:

  • cardboard (the thin kind from a cereal box works best)
  • circular object to trace
  • pencil
  • embroidery floss
  • scissors
  • ruler

*Note: If you’re making a medium sized or larger bracelet, you’ll probably need more than 20″ of embroidery floss – it’s always better to have a little extra than not enough.

Let me know if you have any questions 🙂

Crepe Paper Crocus Flower Tutorial

In this video tutorial, we are creating paper crocus flowers!

Where I live, crocuses are nature’s way of saying Spring is almost here! I believe they are the flower associated with Spring for many others, also.

These aren’t hard to make and they are pretty adorable. Put them in a mason jar, and they make a really cute desk decoration!

Time needed: ~30 minutes (per flower)

Difficulty: Easy

Crepe Paper Iris Flower Tutorial

Hi, everyone!

This video tutorial shows how to create Bearded Irises out of crepe paper!

These take a little time to make, but aren’t too difficult. If you are concerned about the wires on the back of the top petals being too visible, you can try using other colors of wire, such as silver, or try painting them with acrylic paint.

Time needed: ~45 minutes (they take less time once you’ve made a few)

Difficulty: Intermediate

Flower Shaped Paper Gift Box Tutorial

This is a video tutorial showing how to create a flower shaped box out of paper!

This video was made with Mother’s Day in mind, but this box would make a great gift idea for birthdays, anniversaries, or for anyone who likes flowers! Its small size is great for filling with candy or other small gifts, such as jewelry, and being handmade makes it even more special 🙂

This project works best with paper that is a bit thicker than regular paper, such as card stock or construction paper.

Fairy Garden & House Tutorial

This week’s video tutorial shows how to create this cute fairy garden and miniature house made out of twigs!

Time Needed: ~1 hour

Difficulty: Easy

Materials I used:

  • twigs gathered from outside
  • hot glue -black spanish moss
  • flower planter
  • dirt or sand
  • green floral decorations
  • reindeer moss
  • popsicle sticks
  • blue glass pebbles
  • small pebbles

In the video, I go over how the steps I took to create the little house out of twigs. Feel free to buy a house instead, but I think it adds charm to your garden to make it yourself 🙂

This project only cost $5.00 to make! I used an old flower planter and glue gun that I already had, and purchased the floral decorations, reindeer moss, popsicle sticks, glass pebbles, and small pebbles all from Dollar Tree. There are lots of different ways you could do this, and many craft stores sell cute little accessories for fairy gardens. This was really fun to make and great for kids and adults alike!

Crepe Paper Flower Bouquet Tutorial

This is a video tutorial to create this bouquet of flowers out of crepe paper!

This video was made with Mother’s Day in mind, but they would of course work for other occasions! In this tutorial, we’ll make roses, blue bell flowers, and branches of leaves.

Time needed: ~3 hours

Difficulty: Intermediate

Materials:

  • Crepe paper
  • floral tape
  • wire (I used 24 gauge in this video, but I strongly recommend 18 gauge or larger – this way you won’t have to wrap 3 together to make the stems)
  • glue gun
  • scissors

If you have questions or if you make this, I’d love to hear from you!
